End of Summer and Beginning of Autumn Poetry Contest

fall's call

summer light wanes, slow. golden days fold into dusk. autumn, at doorstep~ chill blasts will soon veer around. call to lie in dust with leaves.

Awwwn the call of fall! And the leaves definitely do listen! Such an evocative, mystical and miridical tanka this is, dear Valsa, such gorgeous wordplay throughout and the autumn-glazed mbience that you've set is so captivating! "Summer light wanes" that absolutely was enough to enthrall me ~ "golden days fold into dusk" wow, so spellbinding! And gorgeous! Sending you starlight and moonbeams, with best wishes for the contest! A FAVE 💫💫🍂🍂🧚‍♀️🧚‍♀️

Your well-crafted Tanka poem beautifully captures the transition from summer to autumn with a gentle and evocative touch. The imagery of golden days fading and the anticipation of chill winds effectively sets the scene for the seasonal change. The invitation to lie with the leaves adds a contemplative layer. Best wishes for the contest.

I like this one, Valsa. It reads like a good contender to me for the contest. Way to go. I will be delighted to see and feel some cooler weather. It is really hot here now, but I know a cool down will soon reach us. Thank you for sharing this one with us. 👏✍️. Sara K.

I really like how you did yours. Do you have 4 seasons where you are? I think some people don't have 4 seasons and fall for them is nothing like it is for others. Your poem captures the essence of fall as I know it.
