Falling Through the Air

In WWII, my dad had to jump from a plane with a parachute, untrained, in the dark, over unknown ground...(turned out a desert) Plane was lost and out of gas...He and his Capt. survived, all others died, crashed into a mountain seconds after he bailed out...He automatically became a member of the "Catapiller Club" and kept his tiny chute that opens the big one (which I used with my toy soldiers..)...now, I've been through shoot...most of us have, but I can't imagine such an experience...like a movie...I have his write up and newspaper articles...They were in Mexico...and the Mexican army wined and dined them, for publicity, I guess...He has a copy of the letter General MacArthur wrote to the Mexican General in thanks...I tell you, he was my hero!
