Fallen

The winds have shifted; the sky has turned dark The leaves have all fallen, their branches now stark Tidy lawns reveal bare spots, withered grass all around Dawn's of chirping bereft; geese stream out of town So too our love, once so warm, invaded by the chill Of Autumn's grim march, over meadow and hill

a sad ending, gershon, but a beautiful poem. fall is still my favorite season, though (despite its "grim march")...

I like the way you use the fall metaphor to show the "chilling" of a relationship over time, Gershon. Your imagery is amazing too. Excellent work!

Whoa! Glad you liked it so much... Maybe it's Robert Frost you felt, instead of Jack F. (LOL). :) gw
