Your poems have such a dreamy quality even when they breathe out disappointment and pain. When you bid the sun to sleep, you feel that you are engaged in the task of summoning stars into your darkened life but never came. In few lines, you have conveyed so much. With deft touches of your pen, you have created a world of darkness where love frails and thins. Great Tanka, dear Hiya. Another FAV.👍

Dear Hiya, I loved that in just a few brief lines, you’ve captured that painful, beautiful feeling of mourning a warmth that never quite arrived, painting stars for a summer that exists only in memory or longing. O' how creative we can be even in our sadness, using our own inner light to paint stars across the dark when the world outside feels cold or incomplete. A dreamy fragment of feeling. Blessings, Daniel

Through words and exquisitely beautiful images, feelings of love and loss are conveyed here, dear Hiya. I like the poem's title and the picture, too. Both are captivating!😄🌹⭐⭐

You've written a beautiful tanka with a unique style that makes the images very real, dear Hiya. It's about love, and it speaks to the soul, time passing, and a little sadness. There is a clear narrative arc and structure, and the vivid descriptions make the mood very compelling. Best wishes for the contest.

the pathos of life in ruins is so palpable in your piece, hiya...you brilliantly addressed pain through images of ' sleep ' and ' summer that hever came'

Hiya you use brilliant creative imagery to visually and emotionally anchor the poem: Visual spacing stretches out the letters in "f a l l" and "s t a r s" to mimic the physical drifting of autumn leaves and the distant, scattered nature of the night sky. Using "frails" as an action word captures the heartbreaking process of love actively becoming brittle and breaking apart. Painting Pandora's stars suggests the speaker is trying to manually recreate the lingering hope famously left at the bottom of Pandora's box.
