Fair Winds

Fair winds and following seas. May full sails surge with scudding breeze. May peaceful moorings host your craft wherever indulgent winds waft. A toast now to your safe return. May choppy seas be left astern. May evening offer pleasing berth to ensconce in halcyon firth.

This is a lovely use of seaworthy words and almost feeling like it should be accompanied by a swinging champagne bottle blessing!

I learned a new word today. Halcyon, is the one I had to look up. I pray for "fair winds" all the time in life, at least they make living easier.

Hi Miranda. I pray fair winds follow you throughout your day. Yes, it's easier to ride the horse in the direction he's going. LOL Thanks for commenting! :)

Wow this is truly beautiful Linda. A nautical themed poem like no other I have ever read before. It resonates almost as a blessing or fond wish to all sailors as they depart the shore. "to ensconce in halcyon firth" Wow I have never read a more poetic way of wishing peace and calm be encounted at sea. This has to be a Favourite. I hope others offer it the praise it deserves to make it POTD.
