Facing the Monster

Twisting,gutwrenching fear
Heightens as this monster appears
No mercy does it give
for this reason we fight for our right to live
Charging through with little warning
What you would give to redo your morning
Devastation it leaves in its wake
Innocent lives it sure does take
There's no control over natures call
Oh, god help us one and all.
Rest in peace precious lil ones
Now, angels to god you all will make
Watch over us,
for all our sake
For if we die before we wake,
We pray the lord our souls to take

Thank you Gabe! I find myself to be a amature and i'm quite critical when it comes to my own, especially. When it comes to poetry I really don't get the different types there are.I just tend to write what comes to mind or affects me personally and/or emotionally whether its good or bad.To me anything your mind creates is worth writing it down b/c someone will always appreciate it.Thanks Again.

I enjoyed your poem. I liked the way it rhymed. I'm very selfish, arrogant, and critical when it comes to poetry as I like to think mine as being the best, but I find myself appreciating yours. There are many poets on this site I don't take a liking to or am fond of, and I'm baffled how they get so many people to read their verses. Yet, in your case I can readily see why. You do good work. gabe
