Eyes Made of Glass

Staring at shadows in the night, Moving across the frozen pond, Going round and round, Just like a merry-go-round. High-pitched voices, Resounding, booming laughter— They reach my ears, Alive and free, Full of life. Adoring looks, knowing smiles. My arms, Grasping at thin air, Come up empty. A veil falls upon my eyes, Darkness envelops me. Eyes of glass— Staring, Blank, Unseeing, Unfeeling. Not One Single Tear Shed In eyes made of glass.
