Eye of the Eye

I'm witnessed
and I feel that I can hope
   but I disappear again
 into infinite constellations
that don't contain me

to risk just being
    an ever reaching hand
  in an endless fall

can there be meaning in flux
   if time cannot be stopped
and I cannot be stilled

there are all ways and none ~

a cascade of push, pull and feeling
        an ache that resolves itself

I am absolved
     so easily in tangents
so dramatically in execution
  but painfully
        devolved of awareness

   undone almost too far
             concern for that state
       the solo undoing

until once again
I cry out in the darkness
needing to be someone else's vision
           wanting not reflection
     but anothers lens

  it is but a sedative
and my brain and blood
          the very air
    is muddled by it

my wish to be shaped
          preventing form
being moved
   creating stagnation

everything exists
beneath entrapped screams

I can absorb yet be weightless
  conditioning
      be cast off

            there is nothing
                  at the heart
  of vastness

let me be the space
       in-between ripped seams
a free flowing breath
   that returns to a lung
to expand, contract
              travels outwards
    never retreats

I am once again ~
when I admit

         unburdened awakening

    lessons not from man
but from the wilderness

empty and erase me

        inevitable persistence
my only container

all this
      in the time
    that I am allowed

It was a pleasure to read this introspective verse. Your journey is that of many - ' needing to be someone else's vision' - but the extended metaphor of the senses focused it on your personal quest.

You write best from a gut feeling, i.e. let the muse fend for itself :)

I think I might have an idea of what you mean. Very raw,

It was a complex one to write for - really had to dive in with no holds barred :)

So much introspection going on here LG, and all using the entire fabric of creation, I believe our consciousness is embedded in it too, as (inevitable persistence), your line (there is nothing at the heart of vastness) echoes what cosmologists believe, that there is no centre of the universe, it’s just everywhere at once, you have certainly given the Seeker much to ponder, wishing you all the best in contest, a truly mind blowing piece, cheers David

"truly mind blowing" - I'll reserve a space on my non-existent book for that quote! I threw myself into the conundrum big style (What is that awareness by which each body-mind feels alive and becomes aware) - it's pretty vivid the idea of falling through time and space though I can't account for how I manage the alignment with space facts. I entered the zone completely unhindered to write this one and quite enjoyed some of the reveals about myself that I can give some thought to. Thanks for the great comment :)

Oh yeay you wrote for the prompt! And must i highlight how original and authentic your voice is! I just love this! especially love the lines "let me be the space in-between ripped seams a free flowing breath that returns to a lung to expand, contract travels outwards never retreats" yesss!! It resonates so strong and this feels like a cathartic write into finding awareness and consciousness reached, erasing everything ... how beautifully woven! Im just gettn ready for gym! And im like wat i need to comment this is too good and ofcourse its a fave!!! Best wishes! Sending you light

Thank you Ink! I spotted the spaces were filling up fast, so I had to write without second guessing myself and it probably became a bit confessional. I have been to an introduction to Buddhism and a fair bit of me is drawn in that direction - far more than any other religion would ever sway me I imagine, though I've only brushed the surface. Just off for a swim myself :) thank you for the fave :)
