Expedition To Planet E-0054

Way, way out there on Planet X-42718 peering through his telescope one night late the astronomer's eyes opened wider and wider at what he was viewing in the lenses inside her Will you look at that! he exclaimed in X-47218-ese I can see through Planet E-0054's atmosphere with ease It seems that all kinds of creatures are living down there The news of this discovery will spark great fanfare And so it did, and so it was that a hue and cry arose to visit Planet E-0054 to try to get to know who those creatures were and what they were doing an expedition was organized for clear nights with good viewing But the skies clouded up for a month or so 'til the green light was given for the expedition to go There was countdown and blast-off, and things seemed ideal yet little glitches started popping up piecemeal Poor planning had them on top of the planet quite fast when their radar picked up signals that left them aghast fleets of missiles and bombs designed to blow them apart What sort of creatures would do this? Had they no hearts? So the expedition quickly turned back, severely disappointed taking one last look back where the rendezvous was appointed Yet lo and behold, there was absolutely nothing they could see the planet's atmosphere re-polluted, from sea to garbage-strewn sea

So much fun with a great message! If the shoe fits....! I think I hear footsteps of Dr. Seuss!

Why am I not surprised? I love all three as well! Now I see where the mischief comes from - in your writes (wouldn't want to end with a preposition). Looking forward to another expedition from your pen!

You caught me red-penned, Sam. My three major poetic influences are Emily Dickinson, Ogden Nash, and Dr. Seuss. Thanks, gw
