Exhaustion

Ever had bone crushing exhaustion
Where the world looks out of proportion
Where sleep doesn’t help the feeling
Everything smells and looks unappealing
Not one second goes by where you can nod off
Hoping this day was a one off
Shutting the mind down isn’t an option
Thoughts uncontrolled into a new concoction
Mind racing faster than a race car
Every mind fog moment to the bizarre
Exhaustion buried behind the eyes
A weak smile to show disguise
From dizzy spells to feeling heavy
Wishing I could shut my eyes already
Tension headaches feel like migraines
The body locked in fear and chains
The unknown feels more daunting
Appears friends and colleagues are taunting
Anxiety taking over every muscle
Still attempting to grind and hustle
Stomach twists into knots
Realising there must be another plot
The lump in your throat making you nauseous
Every moment slow and cautious
The mental load causing physical depression
If only others knew to show indiscretion
Hallucinations after every long drawn out day
Wishing my mind will stop playing away
Quality sleep is what I need
For my mind and body to succeed
The outside world to break the cycle of stress
To be able to express without the excess
And to be calm and collected once again
