Well, this is kind of a different one..Your wife said that you hurt your back..Are you having to take pain pills??? If so they will cause bowel problems..Prune juice is a good one to use but doesn't taste very good ..Prunes eaten right out of the package with a glass of water will help also..We have had to deal with this with Tommy having the hip surgery..Sara

Stool softeners help take one with each meal or even two of them..Also lots of water and walk some or as much as possible..There is a special med that is given if one is one narcotic type meds..You would have to ask your doctor about that for it is a prescription med..Sara
