Excluded

It hurts to be excluded Even if you're feeling mixed 'Bout the venue that's reputed To be one some people nixed. For at least if you're included You know someone seems to care And it's not like you've intruded; You're encouraged to be there. Often motives are occluded So conclusions may be reached, But you're likely not deluded When a courtesy is breached.

Interpersonal vacuums. That space where doubt resides. Where you are left to wonder what everybody hides. You never really know for sure. If someone's being true. I doubt we ever really will, even when we're through.

It's happened to me several times, but I let it pass. Love the rhymes in this one. / M

Excellent, tight little write---and oh-so-true. Really resonates! A FAVE for me. ~ Gershon

Hey Jan! Nah, it was more personal, but it's been resolved. Amazingly, the person I felt excluded me didn't even make the connection that the poem was about him!
