Exclamation Point
an ******
a gunshot
a gunshot while
having an
******
holding a gun
while
getting off
getting off
while having
a moment of
climax
after being shot
through the
window
holding the wound
while your heart
beats slower &
slower
from before being
faster & faster
the juices all over now
the gun smoking
the bullet hole
through the window
the genitalia of both
or more parties
dripping will sullen
conquest & mixed
emotions of submission
& fury
a bag of words thrown
out while exclaiming
during all the rush of
blood to your hips
to your chest
to your lips
to your trigger finger
to the swatting of the
remaining smoke
after the bludgeoning of the
bullet now embedded in
your torso with the deep
red now pouring down all
extremities
we shout and our voice is
punctuated in the midst of
all the other sounds
that superior human
squawk that sounds off as if
there were no other sounds in
the atmosphere---sad but true
that we believe we are the
only intelligent forms of
anything here---smart enough
to build up weapons angry
at each other killing off the
environment around us
killing off the people that we
don’t agree with all around
us---click boom---click boom---
click---another one hits the
pavement.
