Evil Has a Childhood

toss anger, he said
into the bin of waste
waste not mankind’s love
with abuse and bite
the bullet skies
high the eagle flies
why not the steeple
less with feathers flocked
why not the pews on
threadbare knees
that knock and palms
close touch of closed
and ethereal eyes, in shock
of amazing blue, far above
the whizzing bell of shots
some fell, some rise
both have a knell and sigh
anger flung like monkey dung
lay upon the sheetrock roof
its lies are born and cradled
evil has a childhood, is able
to wean and crawl, to fall
toss anger, he spoke
to the deaf and blind
they never woke nor wised
up. six feet downer done
swept into the bin of waste
a godforsaken life

Definitely evil has a childhood. With each succeeding year, it grows and matures. Unless evil is weaned in time, it will fatten beyond control and will toss anger on all. Great poem. giving scope for deep thoughts and introspection. Love and hugs.

You depict the grave depravities of evil so well in this “ee Cummings” style poem, Kim. A very powerful message and warning conveyed,, well done! :)

Humankind thinks violence is the answer to its problems, ills, anger, etc. I'm glad Trump survived, saddened that a man was killed protecting his family from harm. The two other rally attendees are on the mend, thank the Lord. Pray better days are ahead. Such a well penned poem, Kim. A resounding FAVE. Blessings :)

Yes, evil has a childhood...or deprived of one. Yes, such a tragedy. Now all the experts come out. This is how it should have been. This is a better way of doing it. God may allow these things...but I am certain he does not like nor condone murder for any reason. God bless and protect the Trumps. Pray for the souls of his enemies as well. Spiritually insane!

Interesting angle here, Kim. And so true. Too often, however, the evil just grows into a full-bore monster. Pity!
