Everything has a fee

Everything has a fee, Nothing on Earth's for free, There is no relation, Without compensation, Unless it's just me versus me. Something always involves cost, From breathing to auto exhaust, Imagine, people mating, Without use of call waiting, Millions of yen would be lost. Even intangibles hold value, A smile from the wind, a song on the bayou, If you yell at your spouse, Well, there goes the house, The true meaning of "I do, I do". Life is a pay-per-view event, Due to our voyeuristic intent, We can't cross the street, To keep matters discrete, All we have is fiscal repent. (3/8/90)

G'day Subby... yep; there's no such thing as a free lunch. Somebody pays in the end - a nice thoughtful set of limericks - Lindsay

Thx Lindsay for the visit and feedback. This came out of my early post-college time (3mo removed from graduation) when realizing that Mom and Dad were no longer funding things.

Economical shrewdness is my life these days. When will the world (U.S.A.) pay? Repress... Awesome Suburban! Verlena

Thx Verlena, I appreciate you sharing your thoughts. Unfortunately, the world pays daily, with the loose (climate) change lining our pockets.

Thank you for your encouraging words on my poems... I find this write of yours quite sensible... you have stated the fact that we need to pay for everything unless we are against ourselves.. a nice pen... nad
