Everyone’s Savior

Everyone’s Savior

I have been everyone’s savior
Becoming their stepping stones
To get out of the deep dark hole
While they walk out struggle to get up on my own
Cover in their dirt and muck
Waiting for a hand back down
But instead I use the foot holes
That they lack to find
Do as I am told and do it well
One mistake and it frowns
All the way around
I am everyone’s savior
When I am drowning as well
The weight of the world
Consistently dragging me under
I take a step back and look
I try to walk away but they have
Me hooked,
Hooked with promises of friendship
And more
But to be left closing the door
I am only there when they ring that bell
After all who am I going to tell
Sure they are nice and include me
When they get what’s they need
But once they are full
I get the rule,
Go back to the hole
You have no soul
I am everyone’s savior
Rescue them, do what I am told
Before I am sold
A savior ? No
More like everyone’s slave
