Notes About The Poem

This poem is about the endless cycle of life on earth.

Every Beautiful Thing

Lightning , rainbows, mountains, oceans, clouds
What seems to be random in creation, taunts us.
Dreamy, drifting, sometimes dangerous
every emotion, every sense, every molecule connected.

Plants, creatures, meteors, moving into forever.
Seeds, stars, flowers hold impossible answers.
Time, mystery, untold generations of life forms;
every beautiful thing destined to return.

Hi Suzanne, this is a very beautiful poem, but the form you chose Ghazal is not. This is a beautiful free verse or something in that category. Poetrysoup has a great definition and example of ghazal. From the comments, I realized your poem was featured on the weekly site, congratulation on that as well. You may email me, gladly I'll discuss this further. Pashang

Hi Pashang: When I first posted this I selected Free Verse as the form, but the ' jump glitch' here at the soup drops it to the next one in the list. I have only ever written one Ghazal and I know this is not it. Thanks for bringing my attention to it. I will go in and edit it to fix the mistake. Cheers, SuZ

Suzanne, I went forthwith to your ghazal because I like that form and is not yet keen on writing it. Enjoyed the full gamut of your little gem.

You expand the mind and inspire wonder in this beautiful piece. "What seems to be random in creation, taunts us." <<< you should look up the Fibonacci sequence... you'll find an amazing amount of order hidden within... it's very fascinating :)
