I like the word 'evening', it sounds relaxing. What an image - must be desert skyline? - velvet and punctuated come together nicely.

This is lovely Jan, the photograph of a star studded sky is a perfect companion to your haiku. Yes, 'punctuated by stars' is a line worth remembering~Delice

Thank you so much i am really delighted with the lovely comments I've had for this poem:-) I am to do a talk on 'creative writing' at school and have been asked to challenge the students to write haiku - thought this might inspire them:-) hugs Jan xx

Jan, I love this haiku! My reaction to the 3rd line was exactly like Monterey's. I also love the picture....somehow reminds me of "Baci"...the Italian way to say 'I love you'. Hugs // paul

lol Paul don't tempt me with chocolate lol. I wrote this when i was at the blues festival but as I don't like to flood the site with too many poems unless a contest is I have held it back. I am really pleased with it and the responses I have been getting:-) Hugs jan xx

This is lovely. I love the last line. It can be taken as an exclamation, like uttering oh my gosh, or as a simple statement that heaven is right above us.

Very true Monterary, I deliberately left it open for your own interpretation as it can be seen both ways. Thank you for your lovely comment:-) Hugs Jan:-) xx
