sometimes we are afraid to jump but we take the leap sometimes when we fall deeply it's not our limbs injured sometimes what is meant for us hurts too much sometimes nothing makes sense confusion reigns supreme sometimes we only have tears to express emotions sometimes some see the facade only a few see reality sometimes our heart breaks but we love again sometimes we die inside but we still breathe sometimes we become machines but we are still human sometimes we see the stars but not the moon sometimes when we follow the moon we forget the stars sometimes we look back in regret but we move on sometimes in metaphorical storms we have poetry always when we are silent we have our words

SO, each one of these little stanzas is like a pearl being formed in the crucible of pain, hurt, regret, and loss, with a gem of wisdom as the result. I love too many to mention, but "sometimes in metaphorical storms / we have poetry" is a favorite. I like how the final stanza changes the pattern of "sometimes" to "always", for we always have our words, which offer consolation not only to ourselves but to others whom have similarly suffered. This speaks to my heart and is going in my faves.

Congratulations SO on your POTW! So many delightful phrases and images - "sometimes we see the stars but not the moon,"sometimes we follow the moon but forget the stars." Even though life's perspective constantly changes, as you so rightly say "we have our words" always!

Sometimes Silent One is not going to write today but he does anyway. Sometimes the ramblings of just such a poem make so much sense, these words end up on my FAV list. This is one of those some times.

Many profound thoughts, Silent One. Each verse touches the reader in a different way. My fave is "sometimes we die inside but we still breathe." After a loss, I always feel this way. Also enjoyed the "metaphorical storms" that help you write poetry. Beautifully penned! Hugs, Carolyn
