Eternal Flow

Ever flowing are the sands, slipping through our fingers
Moments form unbreakable chains
No fountain will cause them to linger
Hours spent tallying every grain
Will leave you desolate, if not insane
Consciousness is the creator of time
Without it the concept would be quite inane
The abyss of forever, oft viewed as sublime
Pales when compared to the depth of a mind
Though our vessels exist to inevitably die
Spirits remain eternally entwined
At one with the sands as they're passing us bye
So fear not what's beyond your control
Have faith that time will preserve your soul

I am reading such beautiful sonnets lately. Another one that breathes great meaning and charm for me. Great title too, Joe. LUv, Andrea

We do share similar beliefs, Joe. I believe souls can travel together throughout time, both in earthly life and beyond. I have no fear of death because I do believe in eternal life. I haven't had a chance to see Dr. Ram's contest yet, but I love the sonnet forms and you did a great job with it here. (There are many sonnet forms!) Love, Carolyn

Thank you Constance. Though this was inspired by Dr. Ram's contest it does not meet his criteria. Unfortunatly I have a great deal of difficulty writing on that emotion unless I'm knee deep in it in real life.

This is absolutely stunning, I can see I am in for some very superior competition in this contest, I better get cracking~~
