Escaping the Broken Hotel
Two women were insane
They were contagious
The plague spread to my mother
The plague spread to me
I seemed to have antibodies
That could cleanse me
Each time the cops showed up
The cops knew the insane women
And the women hated the cops
The cops saw a child in the mess
But they had no evidence to rescue it
So they left and returned every few weeks
Because the women never knew how to shut up
But the child knew how to keep quiet
The child knew that skill all too well
The father of the child showed up one day
And the visit was unexpected
The hotel was no longer safe because of the women
So the father became a hero
And as the father left with the child
The women no longer recognized the child
They wondered who the child was
The child was me, you wretches
