Escape
My next-door neighbor’s music is so loud
I feel it vibrating in my ribcage,
but I’ll just float away on my soft cloud
and fill, with poetry, this vacant page.
A multi-billionaire and his sidekick,
who is much richer, may decide to slash
my benefits~~and yours. Let me be quick
to turn the news OFF. Now it’s time to dash
to my own fluffy cloud and float away.
I’ll pen some rhymes about fall’s golden glory,
of Earth’s rebirth in spring, or Christmas Day.
Perhaps I’ll write a sonnet or a story.
