At the rate the oil is pouring out, by August it will already be contaminating the Atlantic Ocean. We're told it is being carried by currents to the Florida Keys. That means the Caribbean and the Atlantic are in danger. The beautiful beaches we have now may never be the same after the oil comes to shore. So very sad. Thank you for sharing your thoughts on this tragedy with me. Love, Carolyn

Hi Gert, regarding your question about Red Tide, the algae is a red color and makes the sea appear red. Thanks for the note below on the translation. I couldn't get the gist of this one from the German, but in many cases I have seen more similarities. I do appreciate the translations very much and read them carefully. I did get the word "fire." Love, Carolyn

Loneliness does seam to leave us in a "fog," Gert, but when we see the torch of passion, we have to reach out for the light. If we've suffered losses in the past, this can be hard to do, but it's the only way to aspire for happiness. Great tanka! Love, Carolyn
