Entangled Loves
Fragile is the border between two competing loves -
The one avowing friendship and the one consisting of
A passion deep, abiding, filled with longing for a dream
Which sadly is one-sided; or so that it would seem.
The offer of a friendship in replace of love repressed
Is at first a consolation, meant to ease a heart depressed.
But a friendship's only pure if the border is maintained;
If platonic love thus offered is not by the other stained.
Two types of love entangled must in one outcome result -
In the compromise of boundaries, making trusting difficult.
To keep a friendship healthy, filled with trust and joy also,
Honour both the love and border - let one be, the other grow!
