Enough's Enough
Dangerous are animals
we think are calm and mild,
for hidden in their psyche
is the spark of being wild.
We humans were not meant
to fall in line like sheep
and follow leaders blindly
to sow where they will reap,
to believe whatever’s told,
no matter what the source,
to swallow whole the lies
and walk the crooked course
that leads us to the loss
of thoughtful regulations
that keep us well and safe
and protect a healthy nation.
The time has surely come
to free us from the hell
caused by the power-hungry
to keep us in their spell.
Rise against the oligarchs,
‘gainst treachery and hate
and the enemies of liberty
which threaten human fate.
Wake up and sound the knell.
The young will lead us forward.
They have the most to lose.
Enough’s enough the byword.
We can put aside our apathy
and stand for what is right
to help us save ourselves, so
rise and vote and join the fight.
