Enough Is Enough

Why,why, the barren womb's cry More water, sighs the earth, run dry; The grave ever cries for more; An unending roar, the fire's rampage Give, give echos this pagan age ! Inspired by Proverbs 30 :15-17

A title that reads into the poem is well placed and fitting.Much, such as "sighs the earth relates to everyone, deep despair and solution. Very nice. Jan

Very insightful reflection on the irony of life. "The barren womb's cry" got to me, Brian. My nephew's wife is now pregnant for the third time through artificial insemination. She is 40 and wants a child so badly. I know this was not your intent, but it made me ache for all of the miscarriages she's had. She comes from a family of 10 children, so she will never admit "Enough Is Enough." Great Poem! Love, carolyn

Captivating thoughts you draw attention to. I see a wise poet's ...shield ...giving the reader a lot to think about...Mainly the point! After reading Proverbs 30 :15-17 I see your marvelous mind working to create this wonder of a poem. I dont do much reading of the bible...but I love proverbs and Romans...My father was a Jehovah's Witness...as a child their interpretation was all I knew. Understanding truth or what was meant by a scripture is all in the interpretation I long to know.....

Mmmm ... you impregnate the Proverbs and gave birth to a gem. Thanks for information and bio, brother. Messing with numbers was my first gig before I became a teacher. High praises again.

I've got things I need to take care of...kids to school etc. BUT I will return to this...after looking up Proverbs! :) Great to see this inspiring piece of work my friend. You are a natural poet. I enjoy reading your mind working for the good of us all....:) God has blessed you well with this talent. Continue please...I shall return to add to the comment. Jane
