Endless Days
I close the windows.
I shut the doors.
Away from the shadows,
surrounding these three floors.
Every room, it's own light.
On at the chosen hour.
Holding back the night,
with only lightbulb power.
All the shades are drawn,
keeping silhouettes outside.
They creep across the lawn,
no fear of being spied.
Darkness outside, light within.
Night once again becomes day.
I can't let the evening begin,
here in the glow, I will stay.
