End of the Day
A radiance bestows an evening’s chime
When silken orange bleeds the sky,
Deeper than citrus splashing like dewfall
As the young petals unfurl to fly.
Doves sing-song for the trees
A tweet that lifts the ridges of boughs ;
Even the wind falls with the twilight
To hold the silence day’s end.
As duskfall calms the flow of dreamtime
Secure in the mild autumn bed,
Lullabies are heard from every sheet
In the glow of full moon’s soft caress.
