Empty Words
I sat upon a midday noon clasping my last letter from you,
with thoughts I quiver knowing you are gone.
A war you fought so brave and well this story I now tell,
together and yet apart I seek only one more moment with you.
Lost and undone as my teardrops drip onto this page,
I question not the reason why my lost love had to die.
I only ask you wait for me in a special spot in heaven,
for without you I am lost wondering on earth alone.
I clasp onto your last words as if you were here by me,
at night I reach for you only to find an empty pillow.
Your laughter and smiles still exist in my broken heart,
to say I miss you does not tell this story for those,
are just empty words without you!
