Empty Fields
An
Orange
Pumpkin glow
Tints the moon on
October's long nights
As Autumn leaves tumble.
And a scarecrow looks lonely,
Standing guard over empty fields.
For the crops have all been harvested
In advance of Winter's approaching snow.
