Empathetic

"I shall be telling this with a sigh" Robert Frost, The Road Less Traveled. Mom took me to try on my first pair of contacts -back when the soft ones weren’t yet for sale. As I struggled to endure a feeling like stones burning in my eyes, I looked up to see my pain mirrored in Mom’s own face, wet with her tears. Congratulations, Andrea, on this personal story of love and maternal expression. Unique using the Etheree form! (ps...to answer your question on my own poem, yes, my mother died very young (early 40's)...had very dark brunette hair) I never got the chance to see her with gray hair. She didn't get a chance to know her grandchildren. )

When Al was taking his contact lens course I was his ginny pig for putting them in and out. Yes, the hard ones were like grit in the eyes, My eyes would be red for a while. I can relate. God Bless Phyl

Andrea, putting the contest deadline just one day after the Soup's one-month deadline worked for me. John Freeman didn't have luck trying that. He's sent a note to admin (Thursday) and is still waiting for a response. I hope this answers the question you put on my blog. Love, Carolyn

What a beauty of emotions you have captured in this lovely write. Mothers are like that only and blessed are those who get such selfless love. My mother was also like that. In Indian culture and mythology we have very high place for Mother and the Guru (teacher). Great write my friend. I have placed a new poem Ground Zero today and shall be thankful if you can read it today itself. Love and best wishes always .Ravindra........Andrea Dietrich
