Embroidery Thread

Embroidery thread comes in hundreds of hues And searching the shelves it’s not easy to choose. One purple’s too dark but the next one’s too light; It’s hard to find one that is perfectly right. Yet buying some extras just makes lots of sense Since the thread isn’t close to a major expense; So when I get some fabric to work on a quilt, I purchase a bunch of new threads with no guilt. Today my collection increased by a few, Including a bold and bright turquoise-type blue. I know that wherever my project has led, I’ll never get stuck, hanging there by a thread.

thanks, deb! i took up quilting when i retired, but mainly do small projects while others in my class were able to knock out bed-sized quilts with ease. i'm not very good, but i enjoy it and am always proud of my finished projects...

thank you, john! i have some of my grandmother's embroidered tablecloths and i treasure them. every stitch took some effort, even if the process was enjoyable to the one who made it...

I never got into embroidery but I am a fan of handmade textiles. You are lucky to be so talented. Your poem shines, too.

Good one Ilene. I see Joann Fabric is closing after all these years. My wife used to shop there.
