Embers of Time
Spring gave birth to blooms of youth
That grew with each drop of rain
Bringing joy to sunshine's truth
And basking in its warm refrain
Youthful days flew by on summer breeze
Energized by flames of the sun
Blue skies smiled down on the trees
And clouds gathered round for fun
Then youth gave way to those autumn years
As the flames of the sun grew weak
Our hair, like the leaves, soon disappeared
As we slipped from youth's sunny peak
Then winter brought the twilight years
And we shivered in its frosty clime
Some trees fell from wear and tear
Their final passage, through the embers of time
