Notes About The Poem

Embers Glow In Sunset's Snow

In snowflakes’ sunlit souls - an amber chest,
orange, yellow, blushing red impassion
resplendent ember hues of stained-glass zest,
vivid vibes enliven snow from ashen.

Inspired bliss of shining kiss on pale snow,
with delicate caresses Sol imbued
highlights to saturate the talc aglow
romancing frosted facets’ fiery mood.

Warm spectrum seeps across the crystal white
as sleepy sunbeams stir the embers’ heart,
igniting jewel tones before twilight
frost bitten festival of arctic art.

Illuminated thrills in chills impress
in ruby rapture sunset's snow does dress.

An equisite piece, Susan. There are so many thousands of poems about Winter / the snow and it's incredibly challenging to find a new angle, but you've nailed it!! If the photo wasn't attached to the poem, that's the *exact* image conjured by your words. Congratulations on your win! Regards, John.

You really know how to create imagery through your words, and it is always difficult in a sonnet with great meter.. you have achieved that easily...I think this should finish very high in the contest..
