Embers and Snowflakes - Red and White Emblems
Listen to poem:
Embers and Snowflakes swirled and wafted, intermingling in the breeze,
when cold snap caused snow to fall
on raging wild fire that had destroyed many homes.
Embers the red seeds that spread and fuelled the fire front and devastation.
Snowflakes the white hope that the fire could be smothered and extinguished for good.
The embers and snowflakes that collided in flight
cancelled each other out silently with mutual consent - nothing was left.
Fire and water, long time foes, sent out emissaries on the wind -
Embers and snowflakes, red and white, floating like butterflies on the wind.
Embers the red emblem of power and destruction.
Snowflakes the white emblem of suppression and subjugation.
