Elevator Orator
He's the type for whom it's an instructive
display of authority
to talk loudly in a crowded elevator
with impunity;
whether or not those around fume or explode
in quiet violence,
he neither wants to know nor cares, doesn't
make a hill of beans difference;
but woe to him, for there she is who has
mastered down to a fine art
the showing of self-righeous, dry indignation
of a mocking heart,
who tells him even at his best moment,
he can never be charming
and, for a loudmouth, now's his worst moment,
worst place, worst timing!
