Here are some famous quotes reflecting the idea that confusion often arises from a failure to deeply understand the problem:
Albert Einstein: "If you can't explain it simply, you don't understand it well enough."
John Dewey: "A problem well put is half-solved."
Charles Kettering: "A problem clearly stated is a problem half solved."
Socrates: "The beginning of wisdom is the definition of terms."
Peter Drucker: "The most serious mistakes do not arise from the wrong answers, but from asking the wrong questions."
Antoine de Saint-Exupéry: "Perfection is achieved not when there is nothing more to add, but when there is nothing left to take away."
William James: "The art of being wise is the art of knowing what to overlook."
Albert Einstein: "Any intelligent fool can make things bigger, more complex, and more violent. It takes a touch of genius—and a lot of courage—to move in the opposite direction."
Thomas Jefferson: "The most valuable of all talents is that of never using two words when one will do."

Listen to poem:
Big confusing words belie
how the essence of good design
is being simple, succinct, accurate and precise!
It's not conceptualizing, brainstorming,
envisioning, strategizing, theorizing,
or hypothesizing!
But, being clearly focused on the straight and narrow path
to elegant simplicity in design,
With nothing left to add,
nothing unnecessary left to take away.
Strangely, the path to keeping it simple
can involve many complex phases and diversions.
With many trials and errors made to eliminate
all the unnecessary stuff,
to get to the core of the problem,
and the kernel for the solution.
Keeping it simple
is the ultimate sophistication in design,
showing clarity of thought, in understanding the problem
and striving for ultimate elegance of
smart simplicity in design.
