El Condor Pasa

El Condor Pasa means Flight of the Condor
Song preformed by Simon and Garfunkel

                                               I'd rather be a
                                          sparrow than a snail
                                                 Yes I would
                                                   If I could
                                                I surely would.
(Do you remember this one?)

The Buzzard

Watching the buzzard up high
Circling in the clear blue sky
Catching the air currents, free
Looking down on you and me

Searching for nourishment, meat
As he circles what does he see
His homeland, his dead tree
A great country that's still free

A homeland riddled with crime
No longer really safe, nor free
Freedom to leave doors unlocked
Cars no longer safe to just park

Maybe the buzzard is waiting
To feed, on filth that rules
The streets with crime, drugs
Handguns wildly handled

(Unfinished and rhymes somewhat. Can you think from news of something to
add?)

Kool poem Sara, at least the buzzards await for valid reasons, unlike the scum on the streets >> James

Hi Sara, Handguns in the hands of wild thugs. From that line, until 2 seconds later, when my mind went blank.... my ideas are blocked. Except for this. We had buzzards circling above our property while my wheelchair ramp was being installed. We all joked about "Who" they were waiting for. Oh here's one... about 15 years ago my grandmother 87-ish then, was kidnapped and held hostage for hours in her own car. Hours later, he let her go in a wilderness area and took her car. Sad. Love, Dane

I think you've got a good one brewing there. In the downtown area where I work, black vultures (buzzards) circle the highest building in early evening trying to get that last warm updraft before heading home to roost. Ironically, it is the Bank of America building. A forshadowing of things to come...? You might also want to check out the vulture "animal totem" online. Might be some good brain ticklers in there.
