Earth Day

In April, as blossoms have begun
and raindrops so gently fall,
the wind brings messages from the sun--
you can hear them in a Spring bird's call.

There are whispers among some tulips,
and the breeze as it plays with the grass.
Daffodil feels the world made bad slips;
primrose feels the naughty get a pass.

Their message is open and quite clear.
They can no longer just bide their time.
Save Mother Earth, or we won't be here!
Not enough we adjusted the clime.

Wake Up! You now have no time to waste!
Excuses--we hear not what you say.
Action is required and with great haste!
Try to think of EARTH on this Earth Day!

Thank you Swetha. I agree-we need to shout that we're killing the earth, but many don't listen...

Thanks, Harry! Unfortunately, I don't think our law-makers like poetry :)

Only 1.7% of the water on this planet is potable, yet there is not international attempt to conserve it or direct it to its best use. If the sugar in your sugar bowl contained only 1.7% of its capacity, how long would it take before someone took action? Aloha!

I meant to write it earlier, but things intervened. It's my eldest son's birthday. Thank you for your wise comments.
