Earth

Are we close to nature's heart, Or are we distant from the start? Under our cities of concrete and asphalt Is a borrowed foundation on which we build upon. Have we lost our way in a maze of material distractions? Our very survival is rooted hear on earth. Don't overlook what God has woven into nature. We are intertwined with all that is. Feel the sacred ground on which you walk on, And the elements within its sphere. Co-existence with earth has been neglected is seen. But creating unity and harmony with our planet, The heartbeat of earth and humanity as one shall be. For Debbie Guzzie's contest, 'Earth, Fire, Water, Wind'

I know what you mean, these cities seem to be heartless and the Earth's soul dismissed! That's why I live out in the country, where nature is all around me, and peace and tranquility runs supreme my friend! I am glad to have read this enlightening poem, such a wonderful piece Connie! Great Work!!
