Dusty Trail Quatern

on the edge of the dusty trail
i gather thoughts within my mind
from tired body aged and frail
a bit of strength i hope to find

i watch as sun escapes the sky
on the edge of the dusty trail
the way it bleeds catches my eye
scarlet red to a pink so pale

as darkness begins to entrail
beneath the moon my thoughts take plight
on the edge of the dusty trail
an illumination of light

a set of eyes within the tree
an owl spans wings and sets asail
his strength i find inside of me
on the edge of the dusty trail

Oh, my, Sandy, this is your quatern!! thanks so much for trying my contest. I have not seen you write a form poem too often and you did beautifully. Was that a typo where you said, "my thoughts take plight"? I was thinking maybe you meant flight so I marked it down one lower for that. Congrats, my friend.

Awesome Sandra. I haven't bothered to count, but I can tell by how it reads that you've followed an 8/8/8/8 all the way. Being a rhyme and meter guy, as you know, I luv it. Keep on girl Hugs ;-) Mel

Thank you...i wanted to attempt this form which requires rhyme...i am not much of a rhymer, i feel it makes it harder to paint images....your comment made me smile! Hugs :)
