Dusk Chorus

The night is close, but it isn't cold, And birds, singing still, make for a glorious dusk chorus. The dark can follow, looking back, And looking onward's just as black, But a sturdy, fond wood-smoke breaks this lonely shadow, And I recall my hand held in yours, And I know of no safer hold.
