Heartbeat


A pulse 
of peo-
ple moves
through the
streets to
hide from
the time
that runs
after 
us all

on and
on and
onward
and on
and on
again

to fol-
low dreams
we have 
throughout
the day
behind 
our dis-
tant gaze

on and
on and
forward
and on
and on
'til then

at night
we sleep
away 
with dreams 
the time
unspent
until
our last
short breath
is gone

and on
and on
towards 
the light
that leads
us to 
sweet ne-
ver more
