This is so beautiful and picturesque. Without able to give rain, the wispy clouds just stray aimless in the sky . I love all the epithets used to describe them. "Orphans of drought, vagabonds, itinerant waif". As we see them on a drought stricken day, we hope to get some rain, but they disappoint, appearing and straying away. Sam, your Yalto is so imaginative. Have a Merry Christmas, dear !

Merry Christmas Valsa! Thank you for the gift of your lovely message and ever thoughtful feedback! We so need the rain that every time clouds pass overhead we get our hopes up there is rain in their mists only to be disappointed! The first line really set up the rest of the poem. While we are disappointed by rainless clouds writing this poem was a fun adventure. Sending you blessings of joy and peace for Christmas dear friend.

Merry Christmas Ann! I am so glad you liked this Yalto. It was such fun to put together as I mused on our drought and watched impotent clouds in the sky! Hope you are having a wonderful Christmastime filled with joy and peace. Blessings!

Thank you so much Sara! Was musing on our drought conditions here in CA. Any time we see clouds we get our hopes up for rain. Unfortunately too many of these clouds have nothing to offer and provide no rain! I'm glad you liked this offering on our drought! Pray for rain! Merry Christmas blessings to you.

Thank you so much Edward! Your feedback means even more coming from the inventor of the Yalto!!!! I enjoy writing in your format. Like a haiku so much can be said within its limits! Merry Christmas. Sending you blessings of joy and the peace of the season!

Sam, your poetry Yalto is incredibly well-crafted. Because of the effects of global warming, droughts are being experienced more frequently in recent years. This fact alone should provoke some originality and reflection. I am grateful to you, Sam, for your thoughtfulness and comments on my page. During this time of celebration, I wish you and your family all the happiness and peace that the season has to offer.
