Driverless -- Ahead of the Curve

I've gone driverless, the first one on my block
Even though I wear a watch and still use a clock
I may be old-fashioned in most all of my ways
But I'll be ahead of the curve on streets and highways

I've told some of my neighbors, and boy are they jealous
You'd think they'd be happy, the way they used to yell at us
But isn't that how this crazy world of ours always works
People around you, your long-time neighbors, acting like jerks

Shush now, keep my secret: I haven't shown them my acquisition
I'm housing it far away; don't want to give folks ammunition
Now just between you and me, shh now, don't say a thing ~
   Driverless purchase's a broken-down nag I can lead on a string

So glad what you have hidden is an old nag, not a driverless car! Good one, Gershon--well-written, surprise at the end. Janice
