Drink, Drink of Pen, Paper and Poet's Ink
Drink, Drink Of Pen, Paper And Poet's Ink
Drink, drink of pen, paper and poet's ink
As the red-faced sun in the west sinks
And morn's beaming smile promises much more
Seas of ice cream and sweet chocolate shores
Words and vivid colors- across the page
Verses of vivid stripes, every gage.
Drink, drink, in heart and soul let wonder spill
As snow-white mountain looks at lowly hills
As radiant sun shines from the far east
Life and love- romance a bountiful feast
Words and vivid colors- across the page
Verses of vivid stripes, every gage.
Drink , drink, see the mind, a new poet born
As earth flows with the gleanings of soft morn
And world spins into the coming parade
Poet warrior sharpens his trusty blade
Words and vivid colors- across the page
Verses of vivid stripes, every gage.
Drink, drink, let eager spirit dare to flee
As inner thoughts splash in bright rainbow seas
And the painter inks a great masterpiece
Verses birthed that bring needed release
Words and vivid colors- across the page
Verses of vivid stripes, every gage.
Drink, drink of pen, paper and poet's ink
As the red-faced sun in the west sinks
And morn's beaming smile promises much more
Seas of ice cream and sweet chocolate shores
Words and vivid colors- across the page
Verses of vivid stripes, every gage.
R.J. Lindley, June 16th, 1979
Rhyme, ( As midnight verses are born, a release )
Note:
When heart and pen call the soul to obey
When spirit steps up to enter the fray
Poet must decide if verse-fruit is sweet
Poetry exists with no way to cheat
Oft times it glitters as a golden fleece
And nirvana - comes a peaceful release.
