Dreams Know the Truth

I have spent my days building walls. Reassuring myself no cracks were showing. Living with this constant knowing: Eventually everything must fall. So when the darkness of the days comes, So useless it is for me to run. The images come, I just give in. If only it were real again. This routine I do not desire; Picturing you only causes pain. I realize with you there is nothing to gain. Ending this is dire. But once more I lie down to rest. My feelings no longer repressed. Seemingly so real, yet so uncouth, My dreams always know the truth.
