Dreamer's Serenade

The story of my life
It started the day you came….

One

On an eastern-painted sky where clouds adrift play 
My poet’s eye wanders through realms astray. 
Beneath a twilight sky that speaks of dreams yet unfulfilled
Dreams soar like melodies on owl’s wings in flight.

Her scent of jasmine lingered somewhere out in the night.

Two

I’m a dreamer and poet with soul-searching deep
Lost in the ether where mysteries seep.
My philosopher mind with theologian’s plea
I’m the sun, wind and rain wildly untamed and free.

Chorus

She is the moon, the good soil and the seed
The rivers and creeks where life takes heed.
I am the sun, the wind, clouds and rain
In her rainbow of dreams I hope to remain.

Three

By Aurora’s wings, through an open door
I see her standing, planted perfectly evermore.
Eyes like fiery sapphires, heart of purest gold
Godly and beautiful, her story foretold.

My heart skips a beat, my breath catches in awe.

Chorus

She is the moon, the good soil, the seed,
The rivers and creeks a place where life takes heed.
I am the sun, the wind, clouds and rain.
In her rainbow of dreams I hope to remain.

Four

A philosopher’s mind and a musician’s heart
In love with a lady such a masterpiece of art.
Her beauty and wisdom, celestial and bright
In my thoughts’ garden, she blooms day and night.

Like a poem that aches for its word
Singing of love that is timelessly unheard
I ink my song with her grace divine.
Hoping her heart will align with mine.

Under heaven’s home, in night’s silent reign
I question my worth in love’s pure domain. 
With every breath I yearn for her touch
With a sage’s mind and a lyricist's scroll.

Can I craft a love to make two souls whole?

I’m a tempestuous ocean wild and unknown 
You’re the harbor calm, a peaceful home
Can our worlds intertwine in harmonious art
Or will destinies keep us drifting apart?

Lonely-looking sky as hope fills my heart
I sing my serenade, play my poetic harp.
In her dreams I ink my way
Praying she'll choose me and forever stay.

A theme that is timeless….

He is the sun, the wind, and the rain
She is the moon, soil and seeded terrain.
Together they dance in life’s grand harmony.
A dreamer and his precious passionate wife.

In love, a timeless eternity…,

As she reaches for his hand,
Behold it if you may….,
As the one God will make for your way
Glory looking day!
