Dragon of Oz

Dragon had the acting bug! He wanted that big brass ring. If the Sheriff of CrazyLand could act, then… so could He! I told him tryouts for the Wizard of Oz were going on, this week. So Dragon went running off to find, his most perfect part, to seek. The Director kept snapping his fingers, snarling, and hollering next. You had to please that director guy or got thrown out! You Bet! And the line to get that treatment, was more than, 200 people long. But all Hell broke loose, as Dragon spied the Sheriff of CrazyLand! Yep, the Sheriff became the Wizard, the part Dragon badly did want. Now, you know how this will end. The competition was definitely on. Dragon got to do the Wizards’ pillars of fire and other special affects. They also gave him the Flying Monkey lead, yep, and its’ monkey suit. Dragon was furious, but his penguins blissfully flew, as monkeys on strings. As nightly, Dragon, Flamed the wizard, shortening his Wizard cloak. But the Wizard was prepared, with wizardly fire retardant underwear. Besides shooting him nightly with an extinguisher, added a funny flair. The neighbor witches became the evil witches, and the good Glenda, too. But they were, a bit spooky, as their magical Globe was found, to be true. They even gave the flying penguins real flight. Boy, they were on a roll! But, one by one, the actors, all slowly disappeared, until it was thought… Dragon had scared them off, but that didn’t hold true, as the next night… The Cowardly Lion, Tin Man, Scarecrow, and Dorothy disappeared, too. Then, The Witches, out of control, renamed the show ‘The Witches of OZ!’ That is until, the Wizard and Dragon, both, stole their magic making globe. Unfortunately, they were quickly fighting over, who would be in control! But that stopped, as they dropped it, breaking it, yeah, wouldn’t you know! This released the actors, who’d been trapped, by the witches, there within. And this made the crazy, Wizard and Dragon, the true, heroes in the end. Without the globe, the witches magic was finally, totally gone, but oddly… A standing ovation occurred, as Dragon took Dorothy and the Wizard home. Don’t doubt, The Wizard and Dragon, continued the fight, to be solely, on top. The Director was ecstatic as he saw, tons of publicity, roaring in, without stop. Some say, he planned it that way, as their competition nightly, stole the show. Dragon and the Wizards’ antics continued to grow. Yeah… you got to know! In fact, the competition made the play the Season’s Greatest Hit, ever known! Everyone was, Strangely, Winning, as they kept, messing up! ‘THE END.’ Written 3-4-2015
