Notes About The Poem

Door To Nowhere

Door to Nowhere

Royalty have Chateau’s
With moats and drawbridges

Artists have colors
Paints and brushes and dreams

The poor have soup
And Marie's gateau’s

The lonely have open doors
To nowhere

I let my baguette go hard and stale
So I could stab myself with nourishment

As my blood flows slowly
Through that door with no hope

I with no rope, fade away

Hello Arthur, your poem is deep with a powerful meaning. Yet it is very sad. Have a nice day my friend.

Well I have soup and poetrysoup...and yesterday I had both with a hard baguette! Honestly...it's true. Wish we could have shared. Then maybe I wouldn't have felt so poor and lonely too. Hang in there Art. If I can you can.

Don't stab yourself, dear.....certainly not with a baguette....or maybe do because that won't harm you. Oh, Arthur...there are doors to hope and live. Hugs, dear. Congrats on POTD.

You've killed yourself poetically a thousand times, but with a baguette? Really good imagination Arthur! Congrats on POTD I would give it to you just for the baguette line. Cheers

Arthur, this picture you chose for this poem is perfect. I like the way you describe how everyone has something, but the lonely have just "doors to nowhere." Awesome imagery in the line about stabbing with the baguette. Those of us who feel lonely at times know the feelings you have examined all too well. Excellent!

The lonely, like the broken-hearted, appear to have few or no options, Arthur. So sad to be left with no hope! (I have always wondered where you manage to find so many excellent pictures!) ~ Regards // paul

Thanks Paul, often it takes me much longer to find the photo than to write the poem. I do have a lot of photographers and artists that let me use their works as well. ( you can see many on my web site!)
